Find quick solutions to the most common problems MeetAssist users encounter.

Extension Issues

MeetAssist Extension Not Appearing

Problem: The extension icon doesn't show up in Chrome toolbar.

Solution:

  1. Open Chrome and go to chrome://extensions
  2. Find MeetAssist in the list
  3. Make sure it's enabled (toggle switch is blue)
  4. Click the puzzle icon in Chrome toolbar
  5. Pin MeetAssist for easy access

Extension Not Detecting Interview

Problem: MeetAssist doesn't activate during a video call.

Solution:

  1. Ensure you're using a supported platform (Google Meet, Zoom, Teams)
  2. Refresh the meeting page
  3. Check that MeetAssist has permission to access the page:
    • Go to chrome://extensions
    • Click Details on MeetAssist
    • Ensure "On all sites" is selected under Site access
  4. Try rejoining the meeting

Extension Crashing or Freezing

Problem: MeetAssist stops responding during an interview.

Solution:

  1. Close and reopen the meeting tab
  2. Disable other Chrome extensions temporarily
  3. Clear browser cache:
    • Go to Chrome Settings > Privacy > Clear browsing data
    • Select "Cached images and files"
    • Clear data
  4. Reinstall the extension if the issue persists

Audio & Transcription Issues

MeetAssist Not Hearing Questions

Problem: The AI isn't picking up the interviewer's questions.

Solution:

  1. Check microphone permissions:
    • Click the lock icon in Chrome address bar
    • Ensure "Microphone" is set to "Allow"
  2. Verify your system microphone is working
  3. Ensure the interviewer isn't muted
  4. Check that browser audio isn't muted
  5. Try increasing your system volume

Poor Transcription Accuracy

Problem: Questions are transcribed incorrectly.

Solution:

  • Use headphones to reduce background noise
  • Ensure good internet connection
  • Ask the interviewer to speak clearly
  • Check microphone quality settings
  • Switch to a quieter environment if possible

Login & Account Issues

Can't Log In

Problem: Unable to sign in to your MeetAssist account.

Solution:

  1. Clear browser cookies and cache
  2. Try incognito/private browsing mode
  3. Reset your password using "Forgot Password"
  4. Disable browser extensions that might interfere (ad blockers, etc.)
  5. Try a different browser

Resume Not Uploading

Problem: Can't upload resume to profile.

Solution:

  1. Check file format (PDF, DOCX, or TXT only)
  2. Ensure file size is under 10MB
  3. Remove any password protection from the PDF
  4. Try a different file format
  5. Check your internet connection

Suggestion Issues

Not Getting Relevant Suggestions

Problem: AI suggestions don't match the question or your background.

Solution:

  1. Update your resume in Profile settings
  2. Complete your Behavioral Profile with detailed examples
  3. Ensure your microphone is picking up questions clearly
  4. Try rephrasing the question in your own words
  5. Use Mock Interview mode to train the AI on your background

Suggestions Too Slow

Problem: AI takes too long to generate responses.

Solution:

  1. Check your internet connection speed
  2. Close unnecessary browser tabs
  3. Upgrade to Pro plan for faster processing
  4. Refresh the page if suggestions stop appearing

Performance Issues

High CPU/Memory Usage

Problem: MeetAssist causes browser slowdown.

Solution:

  1. Close other browser tabs and applications
  2. Disable video in the meeting if possible
  3. Lower video quality settings
  4. Restart your browser
  5. Check system requirements (minimum 4GB RAM recommended)

Video Call Lag

Problem: Video call becomes laggy when using MeetAssist.

Solution:

  1. Reduce video quality in the meeting settings
  2. Close background applications
  3. Use wired internet instead of WiFi if possible
  4. Disable MeetAssist video panel (audio-only mode)

Subscription & Billing

Payment Failed

Problem: Credit card declined or payment not processing.

Solution:

  1. Verify card details are correct
  2. Check with your bank for any restrictions
  3. Try a different payment method
  4. Contact support at billing@meetassist.io

Can't Access Pro Features

Problem: Subscribed but still seeing free plan limitations.

Solution:

  1. Log out and log back in
  2. Check subscription status in Account Settings
  3. Wait 5-10 minutes for subscription to activate
  4. Contact support with your transaction ID

Privacy & Security

Concerns About Data Privacy

Question: Is my interview data secure?

Answer:

  • All data is encrypted end-to-end
  • We never share your data with third parties
  • You can delete interview history at any time
  • Read our full Privacy Policy

Will Interviewers Know I'm Using MeetAssist?

Answer:

  • MeetAssist runs locally in your browser
  • It's not visible to other meeting participants
  • Use stealth mode for extra discretion
  • No notifications are sent to the meeting platform
