Is MeetAssist visible when I share my screen?

The desktop app is hidden from screen sharing and recordings. The Chrome extension is not.

Updated October 2026

Desktop app: hidden

The desktop app runs in a layer that screen sharing and screen recording don’t capture, on Windows and Mac. You see it; the people on the call and any recording don’t. Stealth mode is on by default, under Advanced settings.

  • No icon in the Dock or taskbar.
  • It never joins the call: no bot, no extra participant, no notification.
  • It hides itself while taking screenshots for Analyze.
What you see: the call with MeetAssist and its answer.
What the interviewer sees when you share your screen: no MeetAssist.

Good to know

On Windows 10, it needs version 2004 or later and MeetAssist 2.1.1 or later. If hiding isn’t possible, the toolbar says Visible in screen share in red, so you always know.

Chrome extension: visible

The extension is part of the web page, so it shows if you share that tab or your whole screen. For screen-share interviews use the desktop app or Phone Mode.

What it can’t hide

Like any app, MeetAssist appears in Task Manager or Activity Monitor on your own computer, and proctoring software that inspects your computer can notice it. Use it where AI assistance is allowed.
