Install the desktop app on Windows or Mac

Download, install and turn on the permissions MeetAssist needs to hear the interview. About two minutes.

Updated October 2026

Before you start

  • Windows 10 (version 2004 or later) or Windows 11, 64-bit.
  • macOS 13 Ventura or later, on Apple Silicon or Intel. One download works for both.
  • A microphone, and internet during the interview.

Windows

  1. 1

    Download the installer

On the download page, click Download for Windows.

  2. 2

    Run it

Open MeetAssist-Setup.exe and click through the installer. It’s signed by MeetAssist OÜ. If Windows still shows “Windows protected your PC”, click More info → Run anyway.

  3. 3

MeetAssist opens on its own. Sign in, and allow the microphone if Windows asks.

Mac

  1. 1

    Download the app

On the download page, click Download for Mac.

  2. 2

    Move it to Applications

Open the .dmg and drag MeetAssist into Applications, then open it. If it asks Move MeetAssist to Applications?, click Move to Applications: updates need it.

  3. 3

Choose Google, Apple or your email.

  4. 4

    Turn on the permissions

On Setup permissions, click Grant Access on each row: Microphone Access, Screen & System Audio Recording and, on macOS 14 and later, System Audio Recording Only. Turn on the MeetAssist toggle in System Settings when it opens, then click Restart to continue.

Tip

The permissions let MeetAssist hear you and the interviewer. It doesn’t record your screen. Without Screen & System Audio Recording, it only hears your microphone.

Where is it?

MeetAssist floats over your other windows and has no icon in the Dock, taskbar or menu bar. If you can’t see it, press Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + M, or open it again from Applications or the Start menu. It appears on the screen your mouse is on.

Updates

The app checks for updates on its own and downloads them in the background. When one is ready, Update to v… appears under your account on the setup screen; otherwise it installs the next time you quit. It never updates during an interview.
